Workshop Agenda
Friday evening we will look at a variety of pinhole cameras and the images created by various pinhole photographers. We will talk about the basics of making pinhole cameras, how they work, and their unique characteristics. We will also cover the process of making paper negatives and contact printing them in the darkroom. Prior to the workshop we will send you recommendations for building your own pinhole camera. Please bring in what you plan to make your camera out of so we can offer advice. Saturday’s session starts with the final build of your camera. The rest of Saturday is devoted to creating images with pinhole cameras. After an introduction to the darkroom and use of materials, participants can use various cameras to create pinhole negatives outdoors. Using the negatives you’ve created, we will then contact print them using enlargers in the darkroom to produce the positive image. We will wrap up the session with a review of your pinhole images, the cameras and process.
